Cronulla lost Tommy Bishop & Graham Bowen on Thursday with injuries and they were replaced by Fred Dennehy & Greg Allen, then on Friday Bob Wear was ruled out with the flu and was replaced by Pete O'Brien.
Manly lost 4 players on Thursday Bob Fulton still suffering a calf injury he was replaced by Rod Jackson with Alan Thompson moving to centre also Bill Hamilton(back), Terry Randall(ankle) & John Bucknall(hand) were replaced by John Barber, Bob Moses & Warren Evans.
Ray Branighan left the field late in 2nd half with a rib injury and was replaced by Gary Thoroughgood.
