This match was originally scheduled to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground as a home game for the Roosters. It was moved as a result of the relocation of the competition to Queensland from Round 18. Moala Graham-Taufa was activated as Sydney Roosters' 18th man following Latrell Mitchell's late high tackle which dislocated Joseph Manu's cheekbone.
