Match Notes
St.George lost Col Rasmussen during the week and he was replaced by Steve Edge, Ted Goodwin withdrew the morning of the match due to skin rash and was replaced by Morrie Hutchinson.
Harry Cameron again dropped out of the Easts team with Jim Porter moving to centre and Allan McKean the new fullback, Ron Coote also withdrew with Pat Kelly moving to lock and Graham Olling into the 2nd row. Mick Souter replaced John Armstrong who also withdrew.
