For Canterbury Bob Doyle dropped out of the selected team with Denis Scahill moving back to 5/8 from the centre, Les Perry moving from wing into the centre & Ray Strudwick coming on to the wing.
Dave Bolton dropped out of a 14 man team, John Spencer was a late withdrawal due to a leg injury he was replaced by Greg Fryer.
Terry Parker was replaced at halftime by Vic Querin.
