Match Notes
This match was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday the 31st of July at Wollongong, NSW. It was moved to Rockhampton, QLD as a result of the relocation of the competition to Queensland from Round 18. On the morning of the game, the state government announced a 3-day COVID-19 lockdown, meaning it couldn't be played. Following negotiation between the governmant and the NRL, the game was relocated to Brisbane for the following day with no crowds permitted. South Sydney's players and coaching staff had been flying from Brisbane to Rockhampton when the lockdown was confirmed, and they were told to remain in their seats as the plane was refueled and promptly flown back to Brisbane.
