Match Notes
Greg Townsend (Easts) scored a try for under-23s, before making an appearance off the bench in the reserves match and then appearing again off the bench in first grade, replacing Bruce Pickett late in the game.
Steve Renton replaced John Floyd at halftime who had injured ribs, the Sunday Mirror reports Renton took the field but the Newtown Annual Report, EE Christensen's Year Book & Big League Annual do not show Renton as playing a 1st grade game.
