Newtown lost John Bonham & Neil Pringle on Thursday with injuries they were replaced by Kevin Fidock at 5/8 with Des O'Connor moving to half & Peter Parry in the 2nd row with Gary Sullivan moving to lock.
Graeme Langlands with a groin strain & Ted Goodwin with an abscess on his ankle were late withdrawals they were replaced by Geoff Carr on the wing with Max Cole moving to fullback & Bob Clapham to the centre.
Bill Coverdale injured his shoulder after 26 mins and was replaced by Mark Robertson.
Bob Clapham injured his ankle after 34 mins and was replaced by Keith Hemsworth who went to fullback and Max Cole moved to centre, Apisai Toga was replaced by Inosi Toga with 10 mins remaining.
