John Heyward was a late withdrawal for Wests and was replaced by Nev Sinclair.
At halftime Manly replaced Ken Irvine with Bill Clare, Bill Bradstreet with John Payne & Johnny Mayes with Steve Symonds.
Jim Murphy left the field in the 20th min with a facial injury and was replaced by Ted Walton.
