Biography

Manly lock, the son of former Norths forward Fred Bradstreet and the father of ‘90s first-grader Darren Bradstreet, beat Ron Coote for the vacant forward position in the First Test against Great Britain in 1966. Bradstreet was selected in the second row, with the great John Raper retaining lock, but the Lions won the match and this proved to be his sole foray into Test football. A NSW rep in 1967, he continued to give great service to the Sea Eagles, playing in the 1968 grand final loss against Souths. (Early in the match, Bradstreet was flattened by a punch by Ron Coote during a play-the-ball incident). In 1971 he took on a captain-coach position with Port Kembla before returning briefly to Manly two years later.
