Les Johns withdrew from the Canterbury team and was replaced by Peter Inskip.

Laurie Freier suffered a knee injury in the 1st minute of the game and replaced by John Quayle.

Nev Hornery was sent off for a deliberate elbow to the head of John Quayle just after halftime and Jim Hall was sent off 7 minutes from fulltime for punching.
