Dennis Fitzgerald was a late withdrawal from the Parramatta team and was replaced by Barry Leaney.
Danny Gough pulled out of the Newtown team midweek and was replaced by Ron Fogerty, Greg Bandiera injured a knee at training on Thursday and was replaced by Ian Satori & Bob Carnegie was a late withdrawal and was replaced by Oscar Danielson with Charlie Renilson moving to 2nd row Barry Briggs to lock and Danielson playing prop.
