Easts lost Ron Saddler & Kevin Goldspink late in the week due to injury they were replaced by John Ballesty & Jim Hall.
Alan Burwell suffering from a broken finger withdrew from the Canterbury team he was replaced by Les Perry. Ron Costello withdrew following the interstate game on Saturday in Brisbane he was replaced by Graham Herring.
Merv Hicks replaced Max Brown who was suffering concussion 11 mins from the end of the game Bill Noonan moved to 2nd row, Nev Hornery to lock, Ron Raper to 5/8 & Les Perry to the wing.
