Biography

Brisbane Easts prop, a State of Origin reserve in 1983, had a great debut season with Norths in 1986. Jones again played for Queensland in the State of Origin series that year but missed selection for the Kangaroo Tour when he broke his arm in the club’s play-off for fifth place against Balmain. After missing the 1987 season with a total knee reconstruction, Jones recovered his best form in the early 1990s and was once again a force in the Norths pack.
