Biography
Walgett winger, a former Australian Schoolboy rep in 1981, played with Easts and Norths before enjoying a long career with the Dragons. Walford was the season's leading point-scorer in 1989 (146pts - 13t, 47g) and made his debut for Country Origin that year. He was selected for one State of Origin match in 1990 but further rep honours did not eventuate (Walford was one of four senior players on the Aboriginal tour of Tonga for the Pacific Cup competition in 1990). In 1992 he overcame a poor defensive game in the semi-final to be one of St George's best players in the win over I’warra in the final. Walford was a try-scorer in the club’s 28-8 grand final loss to Brisbane and following St George's 14-6 defeat by the Broncos in 1993, he went on to top 100 tries and 200 first grade games before his retirement in 1996.

After viewing footage of the Chooseday Night Football game on Fox Sports, it is clear that Walford was a fourth man on the bench for the St George Dragons against the Western Reds in round 1 1995.

You have made a couple of errors on this page.
1) You stated Ricky Walford made 11 1st grade appearences for North Sydney in the 1984 season. He in fact only made 10 1st grade appearences for North Sydney that year
2) You stated that Ricky Walford played 206 1st grade games for St George. He in fact played 207 1st grade games for St George
3) You stated Ricky Walford scored 18 points in 1st grade during his time at Eastern Suburbs he actually scored 24 (4 tries 6 goals all scored in 1982)
4) You stated Ricky Walford's final point scoring tally in 1st grade came to 966 points through 116 tries and 253 goals where in fact Ricky Walford scored 972 points in 1st grade from 116 tries and 256 goals

He would of played all 3 games for nsw in 1990 but he broke his toe kicking for goal, after game 1
