Alan Burns was originally chosen to start the game at Lock for North Sydney. He pulled out at the last second. He complained to the Doctor of dizziness. The Doctor ordered him out of the game because he believed he was suffering from a virus. North Sydney coach John Hayes had to send Peter Cross out to start the game instead
