Dennis Tutty pulled out of the Balmain on Thursday Olaf Prattl moved from lock to 2nd row, Peter Fardel from 5/8 to lock, Keith Outten to 5/8, Smithies to halfback and Michael Ross who was bracketed at fullback with Smithies remains as fullback.
Phil Kliendienst injured his ankle in the 1st half and was replaced at halftime by Bob Broad, Harvey moved to lock, Ward to the 2nd row and Broad in at prop.
