I was there! The scoreboard at the ground had Souths shown as "Visiting Team" and they kept showing a giant warning on the screens about invading the field of play, which was always met with a chorus of boos. Johnston got his second try in the first set of the second half from a play that started with Fifita inside their own half. The wave of ground invaders started a bit cautiously but then after about 20 seconds it become a flood. Weirdly, a few minutes after the mob was surrounding Johnston, there was a sudden moment where hundreds of people turned and scurried back to their seats all seemingly at once. The play was stopped for about 15 minutes and even Prime Minister Anthony Albanese got out there with his Bunnies scarf. The players were in the dressing rooms while everybody slowly made their way back to their seats and the bit of mess that ended up on the pitch was very efficiently cleaned up. Overall a very memorable moment.
