Your Say

Hercules Rex Clive Norman is my grandfather, my father Raymond Jack Norman is Rex Norman's only son and only child.

My father would always remind me about my grandfather when I was growing up as a young fella and my father thoroughly explained to me exactly just how great of a man my grandfather was.
My father would say Rex Norman had superior Rugby League intelligence with great speed, athletic agility, extreme physical strength and top of the range ball skills.

Rex Norman played mutiple positions throughout his career including Centre, Wing and Fullback.

He was an outstanding Rugby League player that could kick the ball with both feet and also the NSW Rugby Football League's top point scorer in 1921.

Rex was one of four brothers along, with Bernard, Roy and Ray, who played in the NSW Rugby Football League first-grade competition.
Rex and Ray became only the second set of brothers to represent Australia, behind Viv and Bill Farnsworth. Rex was selected for Australia for the 1921–22 Kangaroo tour of Great Britain and ended up playing in 21 tour matches in his footy Career.
He played 13 seasons in first grade in the NSWRFL, playing for Annandale between 1910 and 1914, South Sydney between 1915-1917 and 1919, and Eastern Suburbs Roosters in 1918, and 1920–1922.

Rex was very talented and naturally skilled in mutiple sports that he also played first-class cricket for New South Wales, appearing in seven matches from 1918 to 1920. A left-arm fast-medium bowler, he took 31 wickets at 26.83.

I am definitely very proud of my Grandfather Rex and his brothers Bernie, Roy and Ray with all their achievements in Rugby League and for their extraordinary contributions to the history this great sport.
