Biography

Giant Wide Bay forward (playing for Bundaberg and Gympie) represented Queensland in 1962 while playing for Brisbane Norths. Weir came to Sydney in 1964 to play for Norths and represented Australia in two Tests on the 1965 tour of NZ. A member of Australia's First Test team that took on Great Britain the following year, he was dropped for the remainder of the series after Australia’s 17-13 loss. Weir returned to Queensland in 1970 and played a final season with Brisbane Norths before retiring to Geebung, Queensland.
