Biography

Speedy winger, 'Dally M' Rookie of the Year in 1983, played in P’matta's 1984 grand final loss after Steve Ella was injured. After a stint with Oldham (1985-86) Liddiard moved to Penrith where his career floundered at fullback. Returning to England, he played for Hull in 1989-90 but when he was cut by the club in favour of fellow-Australian Greg Mackey, his Australian career was thrown a lifeline by Manly coach Graham Lowe. Liddiard repaid this faith with some fine performances but was released by the club at the end of 1992. In retirement Liddiard has devoted much of his time promoting aboriginal sport through his involvement as CEO of NASCA (National Aboriginal Sports Corporation Association).
