Biography

Former All Black centre appeared in 17 RU Tests before changing codes to play with Leeds. The English club threatened legal action when Innes turned out for the W’Redsin 1995 and he was quickly targeted by Manly coach Bob Fulton. The classy centre scored the opening try in Manly’s 20-8 win over St George in the 1996 grand final but as an ARL-contracted player, his attempts to play for NZ against Great Britain and Papua New Guinea were blocked. Innes returned to RU at the end of 1997 to play in the Super 12s competition.
