This match ended prematurely on 56' after Bradford Northern captain Jeff Grayshon ordered his players off the field. This was following his dismissal for throwing the ball at referee Robin Whitfield. His sendoff followed those of John Millington and Steve Hartley (Hull Kingston Rovers), Gary van Bellen, Dean Carroll and Ian Ellis (Bradford Northern), all in the first half. The referee subsequently awarded the win to Hull Kingston Rovers.
