Bill Hamilton was a late withdrawal from the Manly team due to a shoulder injury and was replaced by John Bucknall.

Ron Raper left the field after only 10 mins due to a shoulder injury and was replaced by Wayne Golding & Ron Costello later left the field also with an injured shoulder and was replaced by John Armstrong.
Mal Reilly was sent off with 10 mins remaining for a high tackle on Bill Noonan who had to leave the field with a broken nose and a fractured cheekbone. Reilly was suspended for 3 weeks.
Ian Martin left the field late in the 2nd half and was replaced by Rob Cameron.
