Paul Carter says: In 1983 In Illawarras match against St George at Win Stadium when it was called Wollongong Showground watching from the sideline that day was McKellars Sister Marion.She had become a paraplegic two years before after being injured in a car accident the day before Shane was to play in the Grand Final for Newtown against Parramatta.As the the players ran onto the Field McKellar left his team-mates went over to the sideline gave his Sister Marion a Kiss, Promising the Steelers would beat St George.He duly Delivered scoring a try as Illawarra won 25-24.
