Biography
A prime mover in the establishment of the NSWRL, Peter Moir was a disenchanted voice in the amateur ranks who directly negotiated with the NZ 'All Golds' to play in Sydney on their way to England in 1907. A rugged, aggressive forward for Glebe RU, Moir switched codes to take part in the rebel series for NSW and was a pioneer member of the Glebe club in 1908. After playing for NSW in two interstate matches in rugby league’s inaugural season, Moir had an unhappy Kangaroo Tour, playing in just 4 matches (no Tests). He retired at the end of League's first season to take on an administrative role with the Glebe club but died at a relatively young age, in 1921.
