Biography

Bundaberg hooker played for Queensland against NSW and Great Britain in 1966 and was expected to press for selection in the Test sides that took on NZ in 1967. Gallagher missed his first opportunity because of injury but selectors chose him for the 1967-68 Kangaroo tour after seeing him play in a social match at the end of the year. Gallagher played in two Tests on the tour, the Second Tests against Great Britain and France, before joining battlers Cronulla in 1969. Emerging international hooker, Ron Turner, eventually took his place with the Sharks.
