Biography
P’matta junior had an injury-plagued career which denied him the opportunities he deserved. A busy organiser at pivot after moving from lock Mick Pattison was hospitalised on the eve of the 1979 semi-finals with a knee infection. He moved to Souths in 1981 and was chosen in NSW's State of Origin team but had to withdraw with an inner-ear infection on the morning of the match. The following year he made the City Firsts team and looked set to win a place in the NSW side when he broke both collarbones in a freak tackle. After spending two more seasons with the Eels Pattison provided great service to the Steelers but never got the chance to play rep football again. I’warra's player of the year in 1985 he retired two years later due to a chronic back injury.

Your Say
Rod Riddell says: Mick Pattison was well on his way to representing Australia before he broke his collar bones. He would also be in the top 3 five eights Souths has had over the last 30 years. Hope the old Rabbitoh is doing well. (31/08/2011)
Shah Sahari says: I had the honour of playing with Mick for the Wanderers club in Singapore in the mid-1990s. He had never played rugby union but took it up when he worked in Singapore. He was about 40. He took a while to get the hang of it, purely to do with defensive lines, but once he learnt how we union guys played, he became one of the best inside centres in the comp and certainly the best and most brutal defender. He was also a great professional in what was a very amateur comp and he was a great guy too. (11/11/2011)
Paul Carter says: In 1981 Pattison was the Dally M Five-Eigth of the year. (27/01/2012)
