Biography

Newtown five-eighth, a brilliant tackler, played in the club's 34-7 thrashing of Norths in the 1943 grand final. Nevin was graded with the club in 1934 and was chosen for NSW in 1940 but had to withdraw because of work commitments at the height of the war. He later played with Port Kembla while sons Bernie and Brian Nevin both had grade careers with Newtown. In 1972, Tom Nevin collapsed and died on his way home from a Souths v. St George match, aged 56.
