Biography

Rated one of the best locks of the 1930s, Redman started his career in the centres with University in 1933 before moving to Balmain. He was a centre in the club's loss to a champion Easts team in the 1936 final but moved to the forwards soon after. Redman represented NSW in 1939 and was a try-scorer in Balmain's 33-4 win over Souths in the premiership final. Redman was killed in Borneo in the final days of World War II whilst on a flight over enemy territory.

Served in WWII with the RAAF. He was shot down near Balakapan in Borneo.
