Bob Honeysett had a great representative career playing first grade for Souths and Captain of Norths, he also represented NSW , NSW Country, Riverina , Group 9 . He also won the prestigious Maher Cup with Young cherry pickers when he was Captain Coach in the early 60s.
The only reason he did not play for Australia was a string of injuries prior to team selections.
Another great indigenous player produced from the South Sydney football club.

One of my favorite Souths from the fifties, combining with Ian Moir & Clive in the fabulous backline. Dad always took me to Redfern or SCG for the 2nd Golden Era.
