    Biggest hitter in game ever!
Johnston hit harder more often then any other player I have seen.
Tackle technique was perfect , all shoulder, all tough!
Always played tough and within the rules

true blue hitman - every game you'd see a pearler from him - that would rock opponets backwards - once rated "the most feared man in the winfield cup"... who would take that title these days?

Here, here! Perfect technique and absolutely devastating if you happen to be one of his victims! Would love to see a highlights reel of some if his best shots! Could teach the current crop of nrl players a thing or two!

I am from NZ and first saw Peter Johnston play by accident as I was setting up my video recorder to record the warriors play he played for Paramatta N0 #10 and dropped a massive hit on Mario Fenech for the the North Sydney Bears I assumed it was a fluke so began to watch his games instead and never stopped and I agree 100% he is the biggest hitter and cleanest with the best tackle technique by then and todays standards wish I could find his games again to record even use as a teaching tool

Absolute knockout, defense commitment second to none

Yes definitely one of the biggest hitters I ever seen play the game. I remember when Harragon & Spud Carroll were lining each other up every time they played and beat each other senseless. Johnston played against both players and knocked them both out on more than one occasion with perfectly timed hits using chest & shoulder. Great bloke also, went to tech with his younger brother another great player

Peter is and always has been a gentleman, and a friend to be proud of

It would be mighty hard to find a more convivial bloke than Peter. His enthusiasm for the game has not diminished a jot, which customers of his Subway franchise in Wollongong can discover if they ask him the right questions during a quiet spell in the late afternoon.

Apparently, an apt phrase to describe Peter would be what legendary Coach Gibson used to say: played strong, done fine!

The biggest hitter I have ever seen. I remember when h3 played cronulla and smashed Les Davidson and Craig Diamond in consecutive sets. Great technique, shoulder in ribs.

He was the most underrated Prop
    He smashed everyone
    And could cop big hits
I played SGBALL for Parramatta in 1996 and met him in Physio him and Jim Dymock at Dr Michael Johnson’s rooms. What a buzz that was for a 15 year old me lol
I remember wanting to quit due to injury’s and Brian Smith left a message on our family answering machine saying I had a big future with the club. I still quit
If only I knew what I was quitting hey
    Such is life.

    The man

Peter ‘Johnno’ Johnston was an athletic superstar as a junior (his auntie was the great Betty Cuthbert), still holding Hills District Little Athletics records to this day as a middle distance runner. Played rugby for the Parramatta Two Blues and started as a Hills District league player. A champion man with great manners, kindness and never forgets his family and friends. A quality role model. I recall Glen Lazarus refused to run on his side of the ruck.
