Biography

Balmain junior grabbed his chances with Penrith, earning the club's ‘best and fairest award in the Panthers’ historic premiership-winning season in 1991. ‘Nobby’ Clarke was released by the club at the end of the 1993 season but gave good service to the battling P’matta club in 1994-95.

An absolute workhorse on the field and one of the best men you could ever meet off the field.

One of the great front-rowers of the all time. Anyone would have to agree with him when he famously said "Penrith had no chance without me!" Obviously a genius reader of the game with all the skills (and more) of Beetson, Hall, Stehr, Hemsley, Lazarus and Steve Sharpe. A priceless and indispensable ornament to the game.

A fabulously talented forward whose heroic feats will never be forgotten. Silky skills with both hands and feet. An unrivalled footy IQ ensures that he remains an essential role model for every aspring NRL rookie.

Embodied everything that is good about our great game. Elite athleticism of the very highest order. A grand team man who gave his all in every game. A brilliant reader of the game with a Cameron Smith-like ability to read the direction of a set from three or four plays away. Devilish, fearless defender. Outstanding raconteur. The well-honed wine palate of a James Halliday. This bloke has it all.

A player of rare dedication and prodigious skill in both attack and defence. Feverishly sought after in the day by any club with premiership aspirations, this colossus of the game would be in the $1 million-plus per season category today. Made next-level forward play look easy with his deft hands and lightening speed. Probably. Rumoured to be a shoe-in as the next immortal. Only downside is that he can be a bit tight.

One of the most underrated players in the history of the game, unlucky to née=ver play origin in his career, arguably was the best front rower in the league from 1990 to 1993

The way these websites know more about my uncles than I do is hilarious.

A champion of a player Paul & gave the game away way too early to start a professional singing career
