Mick was one of the most exciting second row forwards I have had the pleasure of watching at Leigh. He was virtually unstoppable from up to 25 yards out and I have seen him beat half a dozen players to score, using his trademark shoulder charge. He was recognisable on the field by his skull cap, and was the hero of many a young supporter and off the field he was always a perfect gentleman. It is sad that today at the age of 75 he is no longer made welcome at the Leigh club.
