Wayne was my hero in the 70's an absolute fabulous winger for Wests and Queensland, and also a tremendous goal kicker.

I am his relation when he and his mother came to Brisbane from Sydney to live he and his mum stayed at my parents place at Paddington. My friend, Stewart and myself joined Wests as at Gilbert Park. His mother was my stepsister. We all played with Wests but Wayne was the only one to go on to the seniors. I do have one photo of him when her was about 13 to 15.

I knew Wayne from when I worked with his first wife Margaret (nee Patching) in from 1967. I went to their wedding. Wayne worked for the Courier Mail for some time. I can be contacted if anyone requires further information. The last I knew of him was he was living on the Gold Coast.

I was born 1964 grew up as Wayne Parnall in West End Brisbane till I was 11 , i changed my name to Wayne Roberts in 1999 my middle name , dont ask why . I grew up loving Wayne Stewart watching all his plays and try's he used score when he played for West's Panthers my fav team at the time , I used to wear my West's football Jersey around everywhere with no 5 the back, I replaced this Jersey a few times till the jersy wore off , there was not a better player than this man , sorry to here of his passing RIP Wayne Stewart you were my hero when I was a kid .

Wayne was my favourite player growing up, being a lifelong Wests Panthers supporter. Ditto the comments re his hard running, and fabulous kicking style.
My father was a winger and Foley Shield winner playing outside recent retired Aust Capt Jack Horrigan..
I live at Gold Coast would love to bump into wayne if hes still there
