Biography

Easts RU halfback (a NSW rep) turned professional in order to tour NZ with Easts rugby league team in 1931. Thicknesse played for the club during the mid-1930s when Easts won three consecutive premierships (1935-37). He represented NSW in four consecutive seasons (1933-36) and toured with the 1933-34 Kangaroos. Thicknesse appeared in two Tests against England, as well as in 16 other matches, and later toured NZ in 1935 where he played in all three Tests. Thicknesse played his final Test series against England in 1936.
