The solitary game noted above, like most history, says little about the man, his rugby league passion and what he brought to the team environment. Nor does it give any insight into the man he would become, the family he would foster and the wicked ex-rugby front rower humour he brought to to every occasion.
A successful engineer by trade he was the epitome of the saying, “god invented beer to stop front rowers from taking over the world.
More than a stat, Bubby was a one of a kind for we who knew and loved him. A man for all seasons. Missed.

Bubb was a replacement for the injured Tony Butterfield. He grew up playing rugby union in Newcastle. He passed away in 2023 aged 56.
