Biography
Brisbane Brothers hooker, a Queensland rep against NSW and Great Britain in 1979 (and again in a non-State of Origin match in 1980) joined the newly promoted Raiders’ club in 1982. Hoffman was a fine clubman during Canberra's formative years but by the time the Raiders were premiership contenders at the end of the decade, his Australian career had come to an end and he played his final seasons in France.

Your Say

Similar style of player to his son Ryan who played in premiership winning teams for the Melbourne Storm. Hard working, no nonsense, reliable forward prepared to do the hard work that no one else notices. Except your teammates.

Jay never played in France. He retired at the end of the 1987 season.

I played under age and high school footy against Jay. He would often blow a hole in our defence with his surprising acceleration.
