Rothman's 1991/92 annual reports that he was signed for Fulham from Hukanui in New Zealand on the 20th of August, 1990. However, newspaper reports indicate that he was sent off in a preseason friendly for Fulham against Huddersfield on the 19th of August, 1990, for a high tackle on Gary Mountain.
