Gal Cleary was a police office stationed at Springwood [Blue Mountains] and coached the Springwood U18 side that played in Group 10 [unusual given Springwood RL was in Parramatta zone]. The side had names such as Sid Williams [Balmain Premiership player] and Alan Cardy [Wallabies]. It was undefeated. Gal was a gentleman and a wonderful inspirational coach.
