Knew Noel when he played for Balmain & was a great hooker, unfortunately injuries to his arm shortened his career, remember often having a beer with him when he was working near me& always enjoyed his company especially at the Balmain fund raising nights at the old Leagues club & The infamous one at Glebe Police Boys Club, would love to run into him again some time day, Regards Les Heggen

    Hi there,
Noel Maybury was my rep coach at Eastern Suburbs. Put me as captain for the 4 trials.

Told I’m in the side, then in the Final Cut my name was not called.
I asked you why, your response was I’m not the selector.
We ended up playing Noel’s club side, Dunbar.
The game was played at Edgecliffe.
I played the best game I had ever played.

Noel and the late Ken Mcmorrow, roosters ceo, approached me with Noel, post game.
Told by these gentleman that was the best individual game they had ever seen, by any player.
    Still didn’t get reinstated.

I ask you Noel. Why say I’m in then not be selected? So why the sudden switch of non selection?
I gues I just want to know why
My whole inspiration of becoming an ARL player had gone.

Mind you sex, drugs and rocking roll took over my league.
Thanks for helping me become a better man
