Signed by Wests at the start of the 1966 season at the same time as fellow Queenslander Ross Goodman. Allison was from Brisbane club Brothers but was signed from Bundaberg where he played in 1965.

    ive met alan a few times he runs a newsagent down the road from wynard station in sydney absolute champion with a lot of character who ;

    Alan is my cousin and we always listened to the games that he played in if it was broadcast on the radio. I remember him playing for the Magpies and we’re excited when he joined Canterbury Bankstown. I’m 60 and have been a Canterbury supporter for as long as I can remember.
