John played at North Sydney until the end of the 1974 season he played only reserve grade in 1974 and was the captain. In 1975 he moved to Cessnock where he was captain/coach and represented Newcastle in 1976.

    Cessnock coach after leaving Sydney - joined by fellow bear George Ambrum.

    John played for North Sydney from 1968 until end 1974. The 13 import rule came in for 1975 so he had to leave. We cxme to Cessnock January 1975 where he was captain/coach. Please adjust your records to show correct playing years John had at Norths.
