Biography

Manly junior was a winger, centre and five eighth with four clubs before pursuing a career in politics. The father of former Manly and Penrith player Greg Gibson was the Labor MP for Londonderry during the 1980s and 1990s before successfully contesting the seat of Blacktown in the 1999 State Election.

A product of Young in South/West NSW he joined his cousin Charlie at Souths in 1962 then moved to Wests in 1963 he returned home to Young in 1964 but broke his leg then played at Young also in 1965. He returned to Sydney in 1966 to play with Manly then moved to Parramatta in 1967/68 & finally Penrith in 1969 where he stayed until he retired in 1972. Won the NSW seat of Londonderry for the Labor Party in 1988 State Election which he held until 1999 then won the seat of Blacktown which he held until 2011.
