Biography

Wests halfback was a try-scorer in the club's 22-12 grand final win over Souths in 1952. After playing with C’bury and P’matta, Trevena went to Young before taking on a captain-coach position with Penrith, then a P’matta district side. He was coach of the infant club its first season in the premiership (1967) but following the sacking of Bob Boland in 1973 he returned to coach the troubled club which finished with the wooden spoon.

Forgotten player and coach in NSWRL. Has been a fantastic guidance for current coaches such as Tim Sheens. First coach of the Panthers and played in tough era with the Mapgies. Should go down in history as one of the key people in the growth of Rugby League in this country. Doing great work now with Gold Coast.

As a young girl growing up with uncle Leo and Penrith Panthers I quickly learnt the game of rugby league and uncle Leo’s input, one of tough old halfbacks with years of experience and knowledge offered for the game throughout his life, A absolute legend to his family and many others. ????
