Biography

Wests five-eighth caused a sensation late in the 1952 season when he transferred from the Mareeba club back to the Magpies. Wests were without their champion halfback combination of Keith Holman and Frank Stanmore (who were both on Kangaroo duty) and Dines capably stepped into the organiser role and was a try-scorer in Wests' 22-12 win over Souths in the grand final.
