At the 35-minute mark, play was halted for nearly an hour when York Acorn centre Luke Swales sustained a serious injury. Play resumed with the teams taking a shortened halftime break after 40 minutes. Clayton Stephenson replaced Swales with Acorn activating their 18th man.
