Greg Veivers withdrew shortly before the game and was replaced by Doug Drew.
Herb Timms & John O'Neill were late withdrawals for South Sydney and were replaced by Bill Annabel & Gary Souter. It was also reported George Piggins had withdrawn but newspaper reports indicate he played and was replaced during the game by Ken Stewart.
Trevor Reardon was sent off for manhandling the referee he was later cautioned by the QRL judiciary.
