Match Notes
Easts officials requested before the match that the game only run 70 mins 35 each way and if they could use 4 replacements and Cronulla agreed. East fielded only 7 1st grade players the rest being 3rd graders.
Greg Pierce dropped out of a 14 man Cronulla team.
Easts lost 5 players during the game so finished with 12 men on the field Bill Mullins with a thigh strain, John Brass with the flu both retired in the first half then John Peard with a pinched nerve & Dick Simpson retired at halftime finally Bert Zara left the field with 20 mins to go and wasn't replaced. Third grade reserves Denis Sant, Les Smith, Alan Dick & M Parker were replacements used.
