Game was played as a selection trial for the Kangaroo Tour.
Noel Kelly was called into the test team to play South Africa and was replaced in the NSW team by Ron Crowe.
Elton Rasmussen pulled out of the Metro team as he was not available for the Kangaroo Tour and was replaced in the team by reserve Bob Ridley with Peter Proven the new reserve.
