Six competing Oceania teams initial games played in June and concluding in November the teams were broken into 2 pools Group A Australia, New Zealand & Tonga the 3 top ranked teams who compete for the Oceania Cup and Group B Fiji, Samoa & Papua New Guinea who compete for the Oceania Shield.
Australian won the Cup & Fiji won the Shield.
Due to the COVID pandemic the 2020 tournament was cancelled.
In 2023 the Cup was revived as the Pacific Championships.
